26a Wood Street, Papakura (The Gate Building)
We are a community cafe opening up in 2016. All our profits will be donated to a community group or charity chosen by our team each month.
Origins of Name:
Kowhai was a name given to one of our leaders through a dream.
Kowhai means 'Yellow' in Te Reo Maori, but is also one of New Zealand's native trees. The Tui bird takes the seed from the Kowhai and disperse it throughout the land. In doing this the land gets revitalised by this Kowhai seed which than grows and the process happens again and again.
To revitalise our community and city by sowing seeds of faith, hope and love into the people that eat and drink at Kowhai cafe.
